Tamara - Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara sustained several injuries during his return flight from Moldova's presidential inauguration, requiring a two-day hospitalization, officials reported Thursday.

The 69-year-old head of state was returning from Chișinău, where he had attended President Maia Sandu's second-term inauguration ceremony on December 24. During the flight home to Agausia, President Aioviḱara fell while making his way to the aircraft's lavatory, resulting in multiple injuries.

Upon the presidential aircraft's arrival in Tamara, emergency medical personnel were waiting on the tarmac. The President was immediately transported to the National Medical Center, where medical staff treated him for a concussion and administered stitches for a head wound. Doctors also discovered and treated a broken wrist sustained during the fall.

"President Aioviḱara received immediate attention from his onboard medical team following the incident," stated Presidential spokeswomen Zéra Ûsuṕovi. "While the injuries are not severe, medical professionals recommended observation due to the concussion."

The President remained under medical observation for two days before being discharged. This incident marks one of the few publicly reported health concerns for Aioviḱara during his presidency. Sources close to the administration indicate that the President has maintained good health throughout his term, regularly attending international diplomatic functions.

President Aioviḱara was among several regional leaders who traveled to Moldova to attend President Sandu's inauguration in Chișinău. The ceremony marked the beginning of Sandu's second term as Moldova's head of state, following her recent electoral victory.

Government officials have indicated that while some immediate engagements may be rescheduled, the President is expected to resume his regular duties within the week.
