Aleksandra - As the fourth day of fighting in the post-Soviet Republic of Ukraine draws to a end, the streets of several Agausian cities are crowded with protesters. The town of Aleksandra, with a population of 38,631 in the Ûnda Raioni, saw the only instance of protestors classing with police.
The police department for the town released a statement saying that 23 people had been arrested. Their charges where not immediately made available. Although, it is assumed that most who were arrested were part of a small clash with police near the town's center.
The largest protests were seen in the capital Tamara, where no less then 5,000 Agausians took to the streets overnight. Protestors shouted and held signs reading, "Slava Ukrayini!, Ddeba Ûḱrainas!, Glory to Ukraine!" They also waved the Ukranian flag in solidarity, and many shouted "f*** Putin!"
Protestors also gathered around the office and residence of Vasili Nëmet (SD), Minister of Internal Affairs, Regional Development, Tourism and Local Economies, to attempt to pressure the government into changing their policies towards the immigration and asylum of Ukranian peoples fleeing the violence in Ukraine.
The government has also been highly criticized for not joining the majority of European nations in imposing economic sanctions on Russia, Putin, and other Russian officials. Russia remains one of Agausia's largest trading partners.
