EU to send 579,5 mln euros in aid to Agausia

Author: St́epanâ Šurigini

Tamara - European and international donors agreed on Wednesday to extend 579,5 million euros ($627,3 million) in aid to Agausia, a nation that sits only 20 km from Russia's shore, which is hosting a number of Ukranian refuges as Russia rages war on Ukraine.

The summit, which took place in Prague, included attendees from Germany, France, Poland, Romania and other EU countries. Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara used the opportunity to ask the EU to lift barriers to selling certain manufactured goods westwards, noting that Russia, Belarus and Ukraine had accounted for nearly a quarter of Agausia's foreign trade before the war.

The funds come as Agausia is battling high inflation, and a cost of living crisis. Both of which have been exacerbated by the Russian invasion, which have disrupted shipping lanes in the Black Sea; Agausia's main shipping route.
