Prosecutor General to open investigation into Čirveuloba family businesses

Romda - In the city's historic uptown district the name Čirveuloba is synonymous with wealth, power and fear. From convenient stores to fishing industries Âḱob Čirveuloba, his family and allies own a conglomerate of businesses in Agausia. 

Mr. Čirveuloba has long been accused of a list of crimes including, organized crime, tax evasion, money laundering, kidnapping, and even murder. However, no charges brought against Mr. 

Čirveuloba have resulted in serious prison time. Elâ Čirveuloba, the eldest son, was sentenced to 25 years on drug charges. Giorgi Lomšaže (SD), MP from district 12 of the Tsentri Region, is married to Âḱob Čirveuloba's eldest daughter Atarah. The MP has long been embroiled in rumors of corruption. Lomšaže's campaign was heavily funded by the Čirveuloba family. 

On Monday the Prosecutor General's office will announce an official investigation into several of the family's businesses. This announcement came from the office's official spokeswomen. The initial statement did not include the list of charges, and a full report is expected on Monday.
