Odssa - Agausia's Spear Network, a far-right, ultraorthodox news and entertainment network, has been fined and sanctioned by the Ministry of Public Administration and Information for disseminating false and or misleading information.
On Monday Spear News columnist, T́at́âna Savletisḱen, reported that Ukraine soldiers in Mariupol were selling civilians in exchange for food, and insisted that both Zelensḱi and NATO were to blame, along with Russia, for the breakdown of negotiations and the current war.
On Wednesday the ministry said that it would open an investigation into comments made by Mrs. Savletisḱen's on the Speak Network's behalf. Friday afternoon it was announced that the news network, owned by presidential hopeful Vladimer Mâḱovi, would have to pay a 50k € fine and would face, "a range of sanctions aimed at deterring the spread of false and or misleading information."
Neither Mr. Mâḱovi, Spear Network, or his campaign were immediately available for comment.
