Aioviḱara speaks with Georgian and Turkish counterparts

Tamara - After attending a Friday cabinet meeting Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara (SD) met virtually with his Turkish and Georgian counterparts. Režep Taip Erdoǵani, Salome Zurabišvili and the Agausian president reportedly spoke about the war in Ukraine, regional security and trade affairs. 

 Over the years Agausia has been steadily moving away from its immediate neighbor Russia, and into the sphere of influence Turkey. In mid-March the Ministry of Economy infrastructure and development announced that Agauisa would, "direct more trade to Turkey, and direct trade away from Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova"

During the meeting Turkish President Erdoǵani promised his country's continued support for the tiny nations of Agausia and Georgia. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine Agausian officials have called on the Turkish navy several times to escort Agausian ships to ensure safe passage through the Black Sea. 

Aioviḱara thanked his counterparts for their continued support, and each promised to help ensure each other's successes and territorial integrity.
