President to Attend Ukraine Recovery Conference

Ǵmova Dalbraze

Tamara - Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara will travel to Berlin with a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Maksim á¹”anosi and Chief of Armed Forces General Simoni Maḱdaari. The conference will focus on four areas, mobilizing the private sector for recovery and economic growth, social recovery and human capital for the future of Ukraine, restoration of municipalities and regions, and accession to the European Union and related reforms.

Aioviḱara's participation in the Ukraine Recovery Conference has been irregular, as he was present at the initial meeting in Switzerland in 2022 but did not attend the conference in London in 2023. Agausia, unlike most European countries, has refrained from applying economic sanctions on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The country is seeking to maintain a delicate balance between its neighboring Russia and the Western nations.

The announcement of Agausia’s attendance raised some eyebrows as EU accession was a major topic of discussion. The Foreign Ministry released a statement clarifying their stance stating that while Agausia has no aspirations at the moment for EU membership, they still want a seat at the table when it comes to the economic development of their regional partners, especially one as important to Agausia as Ukraine.
